This page explains how US Loan Portal works, how we make money, and what the numbers elsewhere on this site mean. It is written to be read, not skimmed past.

1. We Are Not a Lender

US Loan Portal is not a lender and does not make credit decisions. We provide information and introduce business owners to third-party lending partners. All funding is subject to lender approval, and amounts, rates, and terms are set by the lender. Ranges shown are typical and not an offer of credit.

To be specific about the boundary: we collect a small amount of information from business owners, tell them which kinds of funding their answers appear to line up with, and introduce them to third-party lending partners. We do not lend money. We do not decide who gets funded. We do not arrange or negotiate the terms of anyone’s funding, and we do not act as your representative in dealings with a lender.

Any funding agreement is between you and the lending partner. We are not a party to it.

2. How We Are Compensated

We are paid by lending partners. When we introduce you to a partner, that partner may compensate us, either for the introduction itself or if you go on to receive funding. You pay us nothing.

This arrangement creates a conflict of interest you should know about:

  • We may not have a relationship with every lender in the market, so the partners we introduce you to are not a survey of everything available to you.
  • Compensation can vary between partners and between funding types.
  • Our introductions are based on the criteria partners have given us, not on an independent judgment about which offer is best for your business.

Because of this, compare any offer you receive against others before you accept it. We are a starting point, not a substitute for shopping around.

3. What the Amounts and Criteria Mean

The funding ranges shown on this site are the amounts lending partners have indicated they generally work within. They are illustrative. They are not an offer of credit, not a pre-approval, and not a prediction of what you would be offered. Most businesses do not receive the top of a range.

For reference, the ranges shown elsewhere on this site are:

Funding types and the typical amount ranges lending partners work within
Funding typeTypical range
Merchant Cash Advance$5,000 – $1,000,000
Business Line of Credit$10,000 – $750,000
Syndicated Line of Credit$5,000 – $250,000
SBA Loan$50,000 – $5,000,000
Term Loan$25,000 – $2,000,000
Equipment Financing$10,000 – $5,000,000
Invoice Factoring80–95% of invoice value
Real Estate Financing$75,000 – $10,000,000+

Eligibility criteria shown alongside these are the general floors partners have described. Meeting them does not mean you will be approved, and falling short of one does not always mean you will be declined. Each partner applies its own underwriting, which considers more than the handful of questions we ask.

Rates, fees, and repayment terms are set entirely by the lending partner and are disclosed by that partner during their application process. We do not quote them, and you should be skeptical of anyone who quotes you a rate before reviewing your business.

4. Credit Inquiries

We ask you to estimate your own credit score range. We do not pull your credit report to match you with funding types. Where a credit check happens at this stage, it is a soft inquiry. Checking won’t affect your credit score.

A lending partner may run a hard credit inquiry later, as part of an actual application. A hard inquiry can affect your credit score. The partner will ask for your authorization before running one.

5. Business Purpose Only

Everything described on this site relates to funding for business purposes. It is not consumer credit and is not intended for personal, family, or household use. Business funding is generally not covered by the consumer protections that apply to personal credit, including several disclosure requirements under the Truth in Lending Act. Read any agreement carefully.

6. No Professional Advice

The content on this site is general information about how business funding works. It is not financial, legal, tax, or accounting advice, and it does not account for your specific circumstances. Consult a qualified advisor before taking on funding for your business.

7. Testimonials and Results

We do not publish testimonials, customer counts, funded totals, or trust badges on this site. If we publish them in the future, they will be real, verifiable, and labeled with whether the person was compensated. Any individual result described would be that person’s result and not a representation of what you should expect.

8. Accuracy of This Information

Partner criteria and available funding types change. We update this site when partners tell us something has changed, but there may be a gap between a change and our update. The lending partner’s own disclosures always control over anything stated here.
